About Julia

I have a passion for relationships and I find my greatest strength to be working with couples as they achieve their personal goals. I assist in repairing relationships, improving communication, and creating healthier patterns of interacting. Specifically, I work with individuals and couples to improve their emotion regulation skills, process life cycle-transitions, and heal from impactful loss. I view things from a systemic perspective, meaning that even as individuals, we are greatly impacted by our relationships. I strive to help others gain perspective and self-awareness in order to make positive changes within their life.

Experience:
I am an Independent Marriage and Family Therapist with a variety of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Family Studies from Kansas State University and received my Master of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University. During Graduate school, I gained valuable experience by providing therapy at the University’s mental health clinic. After graduation, I spent multiple years working at an in-patient substance abuse rehabilitation center. During that time I assisted individuals, couples and families repair their relationships and create healthier ways of interacting. Since 2013 I have worked in private practice, primarily assisting individuals and couples with a variety of presenting concerns. I am fully licensed in Ohio, Massachusetts, Alabama and Florida. I am also a Clinical-Fellow member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, a professional organization that regulates ethical standards in the MFT community.
